I think my mental cheerleader must have gone on vacation for a bit, but she is back. The past two days, I have had great runs and she was cheering me on the entire way.
Yesterday, I was determined to add some miles to my DDGbD challenge. I knew when I got to the gym I wanted to run at least 3 good miles, and decided to break up the mileage using the bike. I would run for a mile, then bike for 2 miles, etc. During my last run, I felt so good that I decided to throw another mile into the mix. I ended up with 10 miles for the day. Ran 4, Biked 6 and I felt great when I walked out of the gym. I ran slow and easy, and enjoyed every minute of it.
Today I tackled Week 4 of the Couch to 5k again. I was able to complete all my intervals. YAY! My heart rate is still above the 85% maximum when I finish the 5 minute intervals. I am going to do at least two more days of Week 4 and then evaluate if I should move on or not. My goal is to be able to run a full 5k at 5.3mph , but it may take me longer than 9, 10....20 weeks. But I know I will get there eventually!
Wow! Great job! I cant wait to get back into running!

Good for you. Doesn't it feel great to decide to add a bit more? I enjoy running.
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!!! That's awesome!!!! I am currently unable to run (or any cardio exercise) due to some torn ligaments in my foot (stupid stairs!). Anyway, I am living for the next 4-6 weeks (nothing like wishing your life away, huh?)...hopefully that's all the convalescence I will need...:) In the meantime, me and my orthopedic boot will cheer for you from the sideline...
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Wow! That is awesome!
ReplyDeletegreat work!
ReplyDeleteFINALLY made it here!!!! I just have to say a couple things! First you look amazing I have seen a picture somewhere between here and facebook and I just thought WOW she is glowing and so happy! Second 10 miles!!! Look at you go WOOT! That is so cool you are way ahead of me right now for sure.
ReplyDeleteThird THANK YOU for hanging in there with me while I had my hiatus lol. I feel great and it is wonderful to know that you are still here!
XO
Awesome work! I'm doing the couch to 5K too!! Can't wait to hear how your plan continues on.
ReplyDeleteJessica- You had asked for an example of a clean eating day. For me that is no bingeing, and eating food that is healthy e.g. fruits, vegetables, whole grains, ideally appropriate portions. I tend to be all or nothing: a great clean day or binge til I drop. I know moderation is the goal...easier said than done.

ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me it's only 10 pounds. I think I lost sight of that and was getting overwhelmed with the 100 plus pounds! I'm never giving up!
