1. It is HOT in Alabama! Today's high is supposed to be 97 with a heat index of 105!!!! SHEESH! What will mid July feel like? A few days ago, someone asked a friend if he knew when it was supposed to cool down. His reply...."November." I couldn't help but chuckle.
2. Yesterday for my Boom Challenge, I did walk/run intervals for 2 miles. Whew...so HOT! But I felt so good afterwards. Most of my outdoor activity has been in the form of walking lately, because I didn't know if I could handle the heat. Yesterday I found out that I can...but only for about 4 minute run intervals :)
3. My Summer Reading Program registration began Tuesday at the library. In 2 days we have registered over 300 kids!!! It is going to be a WILD summer :)

We are feeling the heat here in Tucson, too. I am going to try to get out in the mornings, but I have never been very disciplined at that.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't even imagine. We were dying over here in NH earlier in the week when it was 93! Good job with the running/walking in the heat - i couldn't do it!
ReplyDeleteHey Jessica, I'm glad you're doing the June Boom, too. It's tough to exercise outdoors when it's so hot. We got a luscious cool down today after breaking a 115 year record for high heat yesterday. Oh do I remember those days of doing the SRP? I trained an entire crew of teen volunteers to help us with the sign up. It's a big deal in the community and so good for the kiddos to keep up their reading over summer. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is CRAZY HOT!!!! Be safe!!
