Three Things Thursday

1. Next Saturday, October 9, I will be walking  the North Central Alabama Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure with my Mom, Aunts, and Cousins in honor of my Aunt Rosie. She is currently battling breast cancer, and when I found out about this 5k, I knew it was something I wanted to participate in with my family. This 5k won't be about anything but enjoying family and supporting a good cause. I partnered with a local cafe to sell cupcakes to raise money for our team. The sell started this week!

2. My 30 Day Shred Challenge ends today. I only finished 21 days of shred, but that's okay. I am proud of what I accomplished!

3. Tomorrow is the beggining of a new month, and the beginning of new challenges. This month, I will be participating in Mary's "Power of 10" Challenge...moving 10,000 steps each day and Syl's modified 30 Day Challenge (this time I will be aiming for at least 20 minutes of exercise each day). And, of course, I will be continuing the Drop Dead Gorgeous by December Challenge. I love a good challenge :)

  1. You are a challenge machine! Congrats on making it through 21 days of Shred. I was lucky to get the DVD out of the packaging (shhhhH!).

  2. There is a 5k Komen race around me this weekend too. I have never done a 5k so I am deciding if this is too high scale for me. I think there will be more than 2000 runners/walkers. Or maybe it being so big is just what I need for my first one?! What do you think?

I think I may have just talked myself into it... hmmmm...

  3. Hey Jess, good luck in your Run for the Cure. The cupcake partnership is a great idea. My mom was a 25 year survivor of breast cancer. It's a great cause. You should join the Hot 100 challenge (see my sidebar to join)--they are just 2 or 3 people from 100 and the deadline to join is Oct 1. This challenge was for the last 100 days of the year (I like nice round numbers) and started one week ago.

  4. Good luck at the 5K. I'm doing the 5K Run for the Cure here tomorrow. My first 5K ahhh!! I'll be thinking about your Aunt Rosie!

Great job on the Shred, that is one wicked hard workout. I've been known to say a nasty word or two when I do it :D
