Still Kickin'

Hey everybody! Just wanted to drop in and say I am still movin'!! :) Things have been crazy...and my time for blogging/reading blogs has been cut short. I am still moving along the path of good health. I'll be honest and say that for the month of June, I decided to give running a break...was starting to feel a bit of burn out. So instead, I have been walking and doing spin class...and plan to fit a ZUMBA in there before long.
In July, I will hit the pavement/treadmill again. Thinking about starting fresh and doing Couch to 5k again to work on speed, or maybe another 30 Day 1 mile challenge. Something to shake it up :)

Hope everyone is having a great Summer! Work has been wild. We have registered almost 1000 kids for our Summer Reading Program.  If you have kids, you should sign them up for your local reading program. Keep them learning during the summer! Let them read irresponsibly (what they want to read, not necessarily what is on their reading level...or maybe some non-fiction titles about areas of interest.)  It is amazing how much progress can be lost during Summer Break.

  3. The reading program sounds awesome!!! If you're feeling burned out on running, a break is def a great idea. It sounds like you're keeping up with the exercise!

  5. I think a break is called for sometimes! i did the same and just got back into it. signed up for a half...scary! I think your plan to try new things and shake it up a bit is great! So glad to hear you are doing well!

I agree with everyone, sometimes you need a break to rediscover your love for something. :) I replaced walking with running, but now I find that I'm walking like crazy because it's so nice out (and I save money on bus fare!). I used to love my local library's summer reading programs - such a good idea to keep young kids mentally active when school's out!

  8. You're amazing as usual! Don't you just love spin? It is one of my favorite classes by far. Make sure you post when you try zumba I have never gotten the courage. Enjoy your summer break!
